John J. Cook, who co-founded Pietrangelo Cook in 1997, was born in San Antonio, Texas, in 1966. He was admitted to the Texas Bar in 1994 and to the Tennessee Bar in 1996.
He graduated from Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, Tennessee, where he played varsity soccer. He graduated cum laude from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration in 1989. He also played soccer at Rhodes, serving as captain his senior year. He joined Deloitte & Touche as a tax consultant in Memphis that same year. In 1991, he became a Certified Public Accountant.
Mr. Cook attained his Juris Doctor degree from Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1994. He began his legal career with the Houston, Texas, office of Fulbright & Jaworski. He moved to Memphis in 1996 and merged his practice with that of Anthony C. Pietrangelo in 1997.
His practice area includes corporate law, debtors and creditors rights, tax matters, and estate and asset protection planning.
Mr. Cook and his wife, Terri, have seven children.
